Good Value for the Price:

These knives are forged from high carbon stainless steel, making them sturdy and long lasting. If you hand wash them after using and use the honing tool regularly, they stay sharp! I say this from experience. I bought my set almost a year ago and they are still impressively sharp (more about my experience with the Ginsu knife set. The knives have a good weight, not too heavy and not too light. If you don't need the steak knives, there is an 8 piece set available for about $68. I use the 8" chef knife and 5" utility knife the most (they rarely make it back to the block from the drying rack). The 5" serrated can be used as a bread knife. I agree with the other reviewers out there, the biggest minus about this set is a lack of a bread knife. But it's so fantastic, I'm glad I overlooked this and made the purchase!
